Morning Serenity
16x8 Oil on Linen
©2011 Deb Kirkeeide.
Same island. Different time. Different morning. Different surface.
This was painted on a linen panel which seemingly sucked up the paint as fast as I could put it down. Much different approach than the previous painting and panel, which didn't seem to absorb anything. I like how the surface dictates the style of the painting. In this case it was perfect.
For someone who is typically not subtle - I love the quiet and mysterious energy in this.

Deb,
I haven't been visiting much in blogland the last months, but am in a flurry of catching-up today.
This landscape is new to me - in fact, that you DO landscapes is new to me, which I'm sorry to say must only mean how absent I've been.
It's quite beautiful. I love the light!
Deborah - don't feel bad...I don't do landscapes very often! Nice to see you again - thanks for stopping in.
Beautiful. Thanks for showing
me what it looks like at that time
of day. I'll have to set an alarm and
take a look.
Has it cooled off yet? Stay near
water or in water.

it looks very eastern...the trees become a temple and the limited palette is very soothing and magical...oil on linen is a lovely technique in your hands....
Deb this is beautiful! you should experiment more often.

a beautiful piece - subtle and serene - like you, as you know, i'm so not a subtle person either - but i must say that this piece catches my fancy!
we all need a little serenity now and then, don't we Jenean?
