This was my morning warm up piece from our paint out at the winery. Since I don't go out and paint terribly often, I'm always a little rusty and tend to dive in for a quick study just to warm up.
I think I would like to try this one again a little bigger. Hopefully I'll have a chance to go back soon.
There's something very intriguing and poetic about the path leading through the pasture and into the woods. I wonder where it would have led me to.

indeed there is something appealing about such a path. it's interesting this is a warm up piece, and that you know it. when i write, i'll realize something is a warm up piece only after i produce what comes next. looking forward to the final.
Looks beautiful and complete to me.
Bigger may be quite good as well...perhaps causing more curiosity about where the path is leading.
Thanks Ed.I've come to realize when painting plein air, my first one is the warm up since it's always like a race with the light and I need to get in the groove. Sometimes they're successful sometimes not.
Thank you Christopher. I think you're right. Bigger would give me a chance to explore that path.
i love how the path leads you into the painting ....and the day....great composition. I always work in series...once you know your subject you can really have fun with it....
Deb...The path draws me in.... the destiny appears quiet and comforting to me.
I love all of your work ......
