A Thousand Stars
A thousand stars
rain down
into her dreams
Each one a wish granted
Each one a dream fulfilled
Each one a kiss against her skin
She smiles
filled with the sparkle of their love
and she takes her place among them
Where she belonged all along

Deb, when my email opened this morning to reveal your painting, my heart opened as well. I thought "wow I'd love to know this woman." I'd say your time off did you well. Sometimes we need that.
Thank you for this painting. Inspiring.
Good Morning Deb,
This is a beautiful painting, the person looks vaguely familiar. Rather that's true or not, I don't know.
Your ability to capture the essence of a person is amazing. The eyes are always so telling.
The poem is sentimental and meaningful. The painting depicts the poem and the poem depicts the painting. Together they mean a great deal. You're a wonderful painter and writer.
Thank you Sue. Your comment means a lot. It always makes me happy to hear they inspire!

I don't know who she is...someone we all recognize somehow? They never end up looking like what I start off intending them to look like - someone else always seems to come through!
Thank you for your comment on the painting and the poem. Was a little nervous about revealing something I've never done. But hey! we have to start somewhere, don't we?
Mom, I love it. Terrific painting and great poem. Let's hear some more.
Love you!
Oh, Deb, she is absolutely beautiful, as is your poem. First attempt? wow!
I agree with your daughter, Krista, we do need to hear more...
Happy weekend~ ♥
~Calli

Calli! I am honored to be the only one visited by you this weekend - (don't worry,I won't tell)
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. It means a lot!
I do have much to learn about this writing thing - really have no idea what I am doing but really feel the urge to spread my creative wings.
wait.
okay.
first - the painting is amaZing!
i love how the stars
overlap her!
and she... so serene!
love that she came from you, Deb!
second - the poem.
wait, this is your first? or
this is your first from your latest BOOK of poetry?
again, incredible!
you must know
that in life you can go
in any NUMBER of directions
and will be successful!
and will be fulfilled!
this is quiet brilliance, Deb!
and it deserves to be
turned up a notch!
"this one goes to 11."
"why not go to 10, and make 10 louder?"
"because this one goes to 11."
Chuck, such praise... such support and encouragement! (especially on the writing - I'll let you know when the book publishes!)You can visit here every day, my friend. Thank you.
Beautiful poem and expression from the heart. Thank you for a lovely visit. ~Kathy

aahh... Liss, that's so sweet. Thank you!
I just love this painting!!! Amazing work! It is so expresive! So sad and so strong in the same time, confidence in solitude, no pain, no regrets and a sort of ironical but very kind smile!
I would like to ask you the permission to use it on my blog as my avatar. Please let me know if I have your consent.
Thank you anyway for this inspiring work!
Thank you Ivory. I love your response to her and love that you have connected to her.
