On the Rocks
I'm back from Utah and can now post my plein air paintings. I haven't attempted plein air since last year and it was nteresting getting back into the swing of things what with dodging rain showers and adjusting to the ever changing light. But I am excited to try more. These were some pretty little white flowers nestled between some boulders.

From the Garden
6x8 Oil on Raymar canvas panel
These are just of a few little flowers from the garden. I am still in Utah and have been doing some plein air paintings from the back yard. This is a back yard with plenty to paint - a mountain, nature trails, a view of the city and a beautiful rock garden. I have not been able to figure a way to crop and resize the photos of my work to post but certainly will when I get home. A good reason to get a laptop with all my programs for when I travel. The plein air has been a challenge since I haven't done it for a while and I seemed to have forgotten a few things when I packed but I am making do and it's been fun.

Danny
Right now I am in Utahon a much needed getaway and visit with my daughters. And a chance to catch up with my friend and fellow artist Diane Whitehead. We spent the day yesterday at the Sundance Resort and at her home in Park City. We were hoping to paint plein air but the weather just wasn't cooperative. I had a wonderful visit and I wish we were in closer proximity to one another to paint and just hang out.
This little painting is titled "Danny" I believe he is a brown trout. A friend of mine, who is an avid fly fisherman, says they call them Danny's after Danny DeVito.
This little guy has already found a home at my friend's cabin in southern Colorado. Lucky Danny.

Creamy Whites
I wonder if any other artists out there ever draw a blank in naming their work. I will have to get more proficient at it. It sometimes is a struggle.
I love this piece. The creaminess of the whites against the rich blue background, the brush strokes adding an energy to the subject - it all seemed to come together.

Flowers For a Rainy Day
These flowers just seem to brighten up this rainy day in Minnesota. This week has been a case study in Murphy's Law - technical snafu's all around - equipment, cars, co-workers.... but these flowers help brighten the day.
