Little Red Hen

I found this image in my reference files from a trip to the Minnesota Zoo a couple years ago.
I wanted to get some pictures of some "wild" animals for future reference.
Most of the animals were asleep that day, or in hiding. But the farm animals came through. They were there and ready to party. The Minnesota version of exotic and wild.

Very bold brush strokes and use of colour. A lovely painting Deb. I visited a gallery on Saturday and saw some fine paintings of heifers. I could start a farmyard collection.

Sue, don't they have chickens where you are? Or are you missing the MN Zoo? Thanks!

Calli - You're back! You've been missed, by many. so good to see you again.

Linda - yes, very up close and personal! Thanks, glad you like her.

Roger - I think you may have given me an idea for a series...thanks for your comments!

Hi Deb,
If I was a rooster this chick would be right down my alley. The hare and this chicken are so well done. Your paintings always display the confidence you have with colors, brushwork and technical recognition.

By the way, the sling came off today so I'll be around more often. Typing with two hands and all the fingers is such a relief.

Nice to see you painting!

Glad to hear the sling is off!! Big party to celebrate?

Listen now miss Deb,
You can't hide behind these kind of
paintings. You do know what you're doing.
Just except the fact that you're a star.
Mad Dog.

Ha! I like the way you think Doug! Okay, maybe I just don't have a conscious awareness of how I do what I do. Thanks, Mad Dog!
