Stepping Out

The title seems to sum up the painting and me. Finally feeling the artistic juices starting to flow again. I was feeling pretty burned out and took a much needed break from it all. And while I haven't felt the inspiration at the easel, it's been flowing on the digital side. I am working on an animated project that is my visual of a local poet's work. Totally up to my own interpretation, and it will be shown at a screening with other pieces in the fall. It's really been fun working it all out.
So I have been painting, it's just been with pixels. Here's an earlier version of one of the scenes. It keeps evolving as I get further into it.
And even though I haven't been painting or posting, I have not been idle on the artistic front. I've been talking to an art rep and she's helping to get my work out there. And I just got word that I have won an award in a juried show I just entered! I'm not sure what that is or for which painting, but I will find out Sunday. But I have to say that it really gets me excited about painting again!
Thanks to those of you who have kept checking in here and rattling my chain via email -(that would be you, Doug) It's nice to know I'm missed and I appreciate it.

Oh, Deb!! I LOVE your painting! The colors and texture are so vivid and rich...You are so extraordinary! It is no wonder to me that you won a juried show! Congratulations! And very well deserved! So thrilled for you! And I am delighted with your "pixel" work, too...such a fun and whimsical piece! It's such a treat to follow you here! ~Janine XO
Hi Deb!!!!!!!!!
I only jingle chains of people
I care about and deserve it. Love the Robin
and fantasy pixels. Hopefully I'll be joining you
in posting again soon.
Take care my friend.
Hope to make contact in July.
Doug
Love this happy little robin! Congrats on the award, too!
Oh Janine! you are so kind. Thank you, thank you! I love it when you stop by.
And Doug I always appreciate that chain jingling, I do need it at times! Thanks as always and I'm looking forward to seeing some postings from you.
Thanks so much Roxanne, this little robin was to be a study in a different look and technique (than what it is) My paint kept sliding around so I had to try a different approach - but with happy results. Sometimes that paint has a mind of its own doesn't it?
Welcome Back Mom! I missed you. Your little Robin is so cute. I love the graphic art as well.
Love you!
I have missed you too!! I have been checking your blog thinking maybe they forgot to send me updates. I love them both! xoxo
Thanks, my darling girls! Glad you like them - but then isn't that part of the deal with being my daughters? Haha! Love you both!
