Big Sky in Wyoming

And they give Montana all the credit....

Another view of the mountains but more about their heads in the clouds.
Ha! much like I've been feeling lately but that's a story for another time and it may be time come down to earth a bit!

This was a big sky, fabulous clouds. Tried to do this one quick and I'm not sure I did that sky the justice it deserves.

Welcome home, Deb! This is beautiful!

Sounds like you had a great time seeing the sights and so many of nature's animals...and cowboys too hmmm...that wouldn't have anything to do with someone's head being in the clouds, now would it? ...;) Just teasing! I couldn't resist.

Inspired work as always~

Welcome back, it's good to see some activity on the ole blog. I really like this piece, for the brush strokes the color, composition and a real graphic appeal to the old art director. Nicely done.

oh, yeah...
you did the sky justice!

it reminds me of
the ceiling murals of ancient wherever...
the sky looks alive! arms & fingers extended, reaching!

awesome~

Hey, thanks Doug! Must be the graphic designer in me coming through. I think I should be working for you as my art director!

Thanks Chuck! good to know the sky has been given it's due honor. The sky really was quite alive!

Great to see you back! I love painting clouds too and like the way you handled these - beautiful:)

Deb, I think you're doing fine all by yourself.
I've lost my willingness to critique most artists,
so I choose to look at artists that don't need
critiquing. That's why I love your work. You're not
afraid to let the brush do your talking. It really bothers me to see painters that go to extra pains to make sure that all of the brush strokes are minimized.
To me, this takes the character from the painting and the artist. OK bla bla, I'll shut up now. Again, nice to have you back.

Thanks Doug!
I like you.
I have to agree on the brush work - that's what i love best. To me it's the energy and the heart of the painting.

Jane, thanks so much. Working on another moody cloudy sky - I've decided they aren't easy!

Hi Deb, I'm a first time visitor to your blog and really reallly love it, particularly these spectacular mountains - their sense of vast space, fabulous
(p.s. I'm a former Minnesotan)
